Testimonials

The Gold Coast Convention Bureau has recently assisted a number of clients to win bids and bring their conferences to the Gold Coast. Winning an event requires dedication and teamwork by both the organiser and the Bureau. To give you a better idea on how we have assisted and succeeded with our clients please see some of our Testimonials below -

APAIE 2010 – April 2010, Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre

"From our first contact with the Gold Coast Convention Bureau in August 2008, I have found the staff of the Bureau to be extremely professional and accommodating. Within one month of our meeting the Bureau developed a bid document for us to present to the Board of the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education in Korea. In September 2008 the Bureau hosted a visit for the Executive Director of APAIE, organising tours of the conference venue & accommodation. We then had to fly to Beijing to present the bid along with the support of the Bureau. The Bureau provided gifts for the Board members and marketing materials for the APAIE Conference in Beijing in April 2009, promoting the Gold Coast as a destination." Within weeks the decision had been made and the Gold Coast was selected as the host of the 2010 Asia-Pacific Association for International Education Congress.

"The Gold Coast Convention Bureau is an invaluable resource for anyone organising a conference on the Gold Coast. I know the APAIE 2010 Conference and Exhibition will be a success, in no small part as a result of the Bureau's assistance."

NTUC INCOME – April 2009, Holiday Inn Surfers Paradise

When employees of Singapore based NTUC Income claimed the number one post in weighted premiums for the first time in the company’s 39 year history, CEO, Mr Tan Suee Chieh extended his gratitude by ensuring VIP treatment for 250 staff during a five day incentive break at Australia’s Gold Coast.

Under the expert guidance of Singapore based PCO, Melvyn Nonis of MICE Matters, in conjunction with the Gold Coast Convention Bureau, an itinerary of outright excitement and leisure was devised.

"Gold Coast personifies energy, spirit and dynamism. Hence, it is an appropriate destination for incentive trip because these are attributes we encourage and cultivate among NTUC Income.

We decided on Gold Coast because it is a great location with a wide variety of fun and entertainment, something for everyone. The price is also reasonable for one of the world’s premier tourist destinations. Clearly, the biggest highlight was the camaraderie we shared with our colleagues and friends. The theme parks, the exclusive Gala Dinner at Movieworld, the magical dinner at McLaren’s Landing with stilt walkers, fire eaters, the fun and relaxed atmosphere, just to name a few, were other highlights."

“This itinerary offered unique MICE experiences that delegates wouldn’t usually have taken part in had they been travelling alone or with family. Australia’s Gold Coast was perfect for NTUC Income. It’s a fun destination, in close proximity to south east Asia and there are absolutely no safety concerns which is always a consideration. The support we received from the Gold Coast Convention Bureau was outstanding. Their sales and promotions team in Singapore were more than helpful and then once in market everything was coordinated in a friendly and professional manner.”

BUPA - July 2009, Sofitel Gold Coast

“My task to arrange our Sales Leadership Offsite Meeting was made so much easier by contacting Gold Coast Convention Bureau. Based on my meeting requirements, Gold Coast Convention Bureau sourced proposals on my behalf from numerous Gold Coast meeting venues, accommodation venues and unique venues for our offsite Casual Dinner and our Gala Dinner which helped me to short list venues and make an educated decision on the range of options available on the Gold Coast for our meeting.
