National Youth Award For GCCB Staff Member | 21 April 2010

Gold Coast Convention Bureau (GCCB) Account Executive, Michelle Stewart has secured national honours in Melbourne overnight, capturing the title of Youth MEA Future Leader of the Year, during the Meetings Events Australia (MEA) national awards night and gala dinner.

The 25 year-old has proven an exceptional talent as part of the GCCB team and her dedication and hard work has been rewarded as one of the top individual honourees within the Australian business events sector.

Michelle has been a member of the Gold Coast Tourism business events division for the past three and a half years, progressing from Team Leader of the Gold Coast Visitor Information Centres through to her current role as GCCB Account Executive, where she’s been directly responsible for securing business events prospects for the City.

Michelle’s proactive approach to her GCCB duties is complemented by outstanding contributions to the wider business events community, sustaining her role as the Chairperson of the Queensland YMEA committee, which gives her a seat representing YMEA on the Queensland MEA committee.

These additional roles have ensured the Southern Cross University, Bachelor of Business (Event Management) graduate an active voice on industry issues.
